BCC Workdays

It is the intent of the Conservancy to hold volunteer work days on the canal to clear it up for public use. The first was held on November 12, 2011 to clear the towpath south of Plummer's Landing in Northbridge. This day's work involved clearance south of the gravel roadway crossing towards the northern breach. The distance from the sewer line to the breach scales as 0.26 mi. Of this about 0.22 mi was cleared.

The next workday was March 24th during which the remainder of the towpath to the breach was cleared. Further clearance in that area was done on September 22nd.

This towpath was only cleared a few minutes before when it was put to use by the public.
Towpath wear shows much use by the public since.
